PyDAW is a cross-platform graphical application that provides users with a complete set of tools for creating electronic music. It is compatible with Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. The application is comprised of a pattern-based MIDI sequencing tool, a high quality built-in sampler, audio editing and sequencing tools, as well as numerous effects and synth plugins.
A conventional DAW
It aims to place itself between a music tracker application and a conventional DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). It features built-in support for low-latency audio and MIDI, and produces high quality tracks. In addition, you will also find sample-accurate audio timing, MIDI timing, and automation timing support. All in all, the application includes almost all the tool required for producing high-quality electronic music.Under the hood and supported OSes
At the moment, the application is translated into English, German, French and Portuguese languages. It is distributed as a source archive for those of you who want to compile it, as well as binary packages for the Ubuntu/Debian and Fedora/Red Hat Linux operating systems.As mentioned before, PyDAW is a platform-independent application that has been successfully tested on other operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. The 64-bit, 32-bit and ARM architectures are supported at the moment.

Two versions of the PyDAW OS were provided until now, one with the Unity user interface and another one with the lightweight LXDE desktop environment.
