Osdad OS is an open source Linux operating system based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. It provides users with a nice collection of open source applications that will make your computer more happy and your day more productive. Be aware that the default language of this operating system is Spanish.
Available for download as a dual-arch Live DVD
While the distribution can be downloaded from Softoware or its official website (see link above) as a Live DVD ISO image, it will be usable and installable on both 64-bit (amd64) and 32-bit (i386) hardware platforms.
Boot options
The Live DVD has been engineered by the Osdad OS developers to automatically start the live environment in 15 seconds if no keyboard key is pressed. Pressing any key on your keyboard will reveal the boot menu, from where you can start the live session with default boot options or in safe graphics mode, directly start the graphical installer, run a memory test, and boot from the local drive.
Custom GNOME desktop environment with a Mac OS X-like dock
The desktop environment used in this Debian-based operating system is GNOME, but it has been highly customized with custom artwork to match the OS’ logo and a bottom dock for quick access to your favorite apps.
Includes a great choice of applications to choose from
Default applications include the Banshee music player, Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Steam for Linux client, Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger, Ekiga softphone, Shotwell photo viewer and organizer, VLC Media Player, OpenShot video editor, LibreOffice office suite and XBMC Media Center.
Bottom line
Osdad OS is an operating system based on the Linux kernel, the latest Debian GNU/Linux technologies, includes browser plugins, multimedia codecs, support for DVD playback, Java, comprehensive office suites, as well as many other components that improve the relationship and the performance of the software with the hardware.
