oceanaudio is a free and cross-platform graphical software that runs on all mainstream computer operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows, and has been designed from the ground up to act as an audio editor with state-of-the-art features.

An easy to use and fast audio editor with lots of functions
First of all, we should mention that there are several ways to add a supported audio file in the application, either by drag and drop from a folder or from your desktop into the main window, from a remote URL, or by using the old fashion way of opening a location using the main menu.
After importing an audio file, you will be able to visualize it in the main window of the application and start editing simply by dragging with the selection(s) you want to cut or copy with your mouse cursor. You will also be able to create regions, and adjust the selections.
The application's main menu will help you apply various effects to the file, as well as to control playback and recording, generate silence, noise, tones, or DTMF, change the view to waveform (default), spectral, or both, zoom in and out, trim selections, remove metadata, adjust sample rate, convert sample type, take screenshot, or export the file.
Available for DEB and RPM distros
At the moment, you can install the oceanaudio software on any Linux kernel-based operating system that uses either the DEB (Debian/Ubuntu) or RPM (Red Hat/Fedora/openSUSE) package management systems. It is fully supported on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.
