CENTRIA WiFi Storage Router

Simplify your digital home with NETGEAR CENTRIA. Easy to set up, use and manage, CENTRIA is an all-in-one device with 3 essential functions. It's an Automatic Back-Up system for your PC & Mac that safeguards all of your data; a Media Server that centrally and securely stores your media and is accessible from any Internet-enabled device; and a high-performance N900 WiFi router.

New Features, Bug Fixes & Enhancements:

• Fixed the Win8 IE10 can't display Web GUI issue.

Known issues & bugs:

• When customer enables the ReadySHARE Cloud function in very first time by Web GUI, it will cause HDD LED become red color. This is LED indication issue, actually the HDD is still working fine without any issue. We will fix this issue in next firmware release.
• With regards to Apple's Time Machine backup function, WNDR4700 only supports EXT4, EXT3 , EXT2, HFS+ in Journal, HFS+ in non-journal file system. WNDR4700 does not support NTFS, FAT16, FAT32 file format for Apple Time machine backup at the moment.
• The formatting tool on the WNDR4700 can only format a hard drive up to 2 TB size. For example, if you have a 3TB hard drive and use the wizard in the WNDR4700 to format it, the total usable capacity will be reduced to 2 TB size.

Note: Please remember to do factory default after firmware upgrade. Enter "Backup Settings" in the web GUI and click "Erase" button of "Revert to factory default settings".

Firmware Installation:

- Write down all the settings which you changed from the default values, since you may need to re-enter them manually.
- Download the firmware and save it to a convenient place such as your desktop. Unzip if needed.
- Log in to the router using a Web browser.
- Click ADVANCED tab Administration Firmware Upgrade.
- Click Browse and find the file you just downloaded.
- Click Upload. Do not interrupt the upgrade while the router does this step.

Note: To avoid wireless disconnect issue during the firmware download process, NETGEAR recommends that firmware upgrade be performed on a computer with wired connection.

Important Note:

- The upgrade process is completed when the on screen progress bar completes. If power LED light turns amber and blinking, power cycle the router to complete the upgrade.
- If the upgrade progress bar on web GUI doesn’t display correctly during firmware upgrade, you can still check the status using Power LED. The Power LED should be blinking (amber) during firmware upgrade. After firmware upgrade is done and boots up the system, it changes to steady amber color.
- Please DO NOT power off or reboot the device during firmware upgrade, otherwise, it may result to a corrupt firmware and cause the device not to work.

About Router Firmware:

Before you consider downloading this firmware, go to the system information page of the router and make sure that the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this release.

Due to the large variety of router models and different methods for upgrading the device, it is highly recommended that you read and, above all, understand the installation steps before you apply the new firmware, even if you are a power user.

In theory, these steps shouldn’t be much of a hassle for anyone, because manufacturers try to make them as easy as possible, even if they don’t always succeed. Basically, you must upload the new firmware to the router through its administration page and allow it to upgrade.

If you install a new version, you can expect increased security levels, different vulnerability issues to be resolved, improved overall performance and transfer speeds, enhanced compatibility with other devices, added support for newly developed technologies, as well as several other changes.

If you’re looking for certain safety measures, remember that it would be best if you perform the upload using an Ethernet cable rather than a wireless connection, which can be interrupted easily. Also, make sure you don’t power off the router or use its buttons during the installation, if you wish avoid any malfunctions.

If this firmware meets your current needs, get the desired version and apply it to your router unit; if not, check with our website as often as possible so that you don’t miss the update that will improve your device.
