Minecraft Server Center is a series of Linux bash scripts that make it much easier to host a Minecraft server. It introduces a lot of features, such as better Bukkit support and easier updating.
To get started, just download the latest stable release, extract it where you want your server to be and run './mcsc' in a terminal. Make sure to give your computer a static IP and forward port 25565.
Minecraft Server Center is available for both Linux and Mac OS X platforms.

Requirements:
- Java 2 Standard Edition Runtime Environment
- 2 GHz or faster processor
- 2 GB of RAM or more
- 1 GB of free hard drive space
