Manjaro Linux E17 Community Edition is yet another community driven, freely distributable and open source edition of the Manjaro Linux operating system, this time using the Enlightenment project as its default desktop environment. The main goal of the Manjaro Linux operating system is to promote the Arch Linux distribution and its entire ecosystem to novice Linux users. It uses a tool called BoxIt, which is designed to work like a Git repository, and provides support for the Arch User Repository (AUR).

Based on Enlightenment and Arch Linux

Using Enlightenment on a Manjaro base is like a dream come true for many Arch Linux users, especially because of the graphical installer that offers support for LVM (Logical Volume Management) and state-of-the-art encryption. Enlightenment is different, it is not like any other open source desktop environment or window manager, which makes this Manjaro edition also unique. It borrows the best functionality from other similar projects, such as the main menu left-click/right-click desktop functionality.

Default applications

Default applications include the Mozilla Firefox and Epiphany web browsers, Mozilla Thunderbird email client, Transmission BitTorrent client, the entire LibreOffice office suite, GParted partition editor, Thunar file manager, HexChat IRC client, Evince document viewer, Viewnior image viewer, and GIMP image editor. In addition, Manjaro Linux Enlightenment also comes with the powerful SUSE Studio Imagewriter USB key writer, GNOME Terminal terminal emulator, 7-ZIP and File Roller archive managers, Gedit text editor, Xfburn CD/DVD burning utility, as well as many Enlightenment apps.

Available for 64-bit and 32-bit computers

Being available for both 64-bit and 32-bit architectures, Manjaro Linux E17 Community Edition or Manjaro Linux Enlightenment Community Edition is the best choice for both low-end and high-end computers. It will provide users with a modern, eye-candy and unique computing environment that not only is based on the powerful Arch Linux operating system, but it will also contain the best open-source applications available today.
