Linux Royal Lite

Linux Royal Lite is an open source operating system based on the Ubuntu Linux distribution and built around the Cinnamon desktop environment. The difference between this edition and the Linux Royal LTS Lite edition is that the first one includes fewer applications than the latter.

Available only for the 64-bit architecture

This Linux Royal edition is available for download as a single Live DVD ISO image of approximately 1GB in size, supporting only 64-bit instruction set architectures, which means that the user will have to burn it onto a DVD disc or write it to a USB flash drive of 1GB or higher capacity in order to boot it from the BIOS of a PC.

The boot loader is a standard GRUB, allowing the user to start the live environment with default options on in safe graphics mode, perform a memory diagnostic test, boot an operating system from the first disk, as well as to install the distribution without testing it, which is something that we don't recommend.

Cool and modern Cinnamon desktop environment with a minimal collection of apps

As mentioned, the desktop environment offered in this lite edition of Linux Royal is Cinnamon, a fork of GNOME 3, providing users with a traditional graphical session comprised of a single panel located on the upper side of the screen, from where the user can launch apps and interact with running programs.

Default applications include the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox web browsers, SimpleScreenRecorder screen capture program, VLC Media Player, GParted disk partition editor, Synaptic Package Manager, and various other utilities.
