Kademar

Kademar is an open source distribution of Linux based on Debian GNU/Linux and built around the beautiful and modern KDE Plasma desktop environment. It is suitable for people who want a good looking, productive and easy-to-use operating system.

Distributed as 64-bit and 32-bit Live DVDs

The distribution can be downloaded from its official website or via Softoware (see link above) as two Live DVD ISO image of approximately 3GB in size each, designed to support both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures.

Boot options

The boot menu is quite standard, translated in Spanish and designed to allow the user to start the live environment with default boot options and drivers, boot an existing operating system from the first disk drive, perform a system memory diagnostic test, directly start the graphical installer, reboot or power off the machine.

Attractive and productive KDE Plasma desktop environment

As mentioned, the default and only desktop environment of this Debian-based distribution is KDE Plasma, which is both attractive and productive, comprised of a single taskbar located on the bottom edge of the screen from where the user can easily and quickly launch applications or interact with running programs.

Default applications

Default applications include the GIMP image editor, LibreOffice office suite, Skype VoIP client, TeamViewer remote desktop client, Dropbox cloud hosting client, VirtualBox virtualization software, Mozilla Firefox web browser, as well as the Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client.

In addition, the Inkscape vector graphics editor, Steam for Linux client, VLC Media Player, XBMC Media Center, Kdenlive video editor, Transmission torrent downloader, and the PlayOnLinux and Wine applications are also included.
