jQuery UI Panel can be used to replace the native jQuery UI tab panel widget.
The difference between the two is that the native component supports horizontal layouts while jQuery UI Panel works with vertical displays.
Tabs within the jQuery UI Panel plugin are displayed on the side of the component, being much easier to notice and use.
ThemeRoller support is included, and the developer also doesn't need to add special IDs and hrefs to his code, the plugin automatically linking DIV panels to the appropriate tab in the order they're listed in the source.
Developers can also control the height and width of the tab panel, the position of the tab list relative to the panels (left/right), and if to execute custom callbacks before, during, and after a click on the tab panel.
