JavaMacBuntu is a simple, useful and totally free distribution of Linux with a very elegant Mac OS X-like theme, which includes many beautiful effects. It is based on the Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) operating system developed and distributed by Canonical.
Available for download as a 32-bit Live DVD
The distribution can be downloaded via Softoware or directly from its official website as a Live DVD ISO image that has been tagged for the i686 architecture, which means that it supports only 32-bit applications, but will run well on either 32-bit (i686) or 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms.
Boot options à la Maverick Meerkat
Being base on Ubuntu 10.10, the distro’s ISO image features an identical boot menu that allows users to try the operating system without installing anything on their computers, start the graphical installer directly to permanently install the distribution on a local drive, boot an existing OS from the first disk, perform a system memory test, as well as to check the integrity of the disc (only if using a DVD media).
Includes a Mac OS X-like graphical desktop environment powered by GNOME 2.30
The GNOME 2.30 desktop environment of Maverick Meerkat has been transformed into a perfect clone of the Mac OS X graphical interface, comprised of a top panel for interacting with application’s menus, as well as bottom dock (application launcher). It also uses the default wallpaper and icon theme of the Mac OS X operating system developed by Apple.

Default applications include the VLC Media Player, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Rhythmbox music player and organizer, Gedit text editor, Pidgin and Empathy multi-protocol instant messengers, Evolution email and calendar client, and Cheese webcam viewer.
