Intense Images (or the Intense Image Viewer) is a classic modal windowing system for viewing images, focused on viewing one image at a time.
The library works like any other lightbox, expanding a thumbnail image to view the original photo at a bigger size.
Unlike other similar scripts, Intense Images does not use a popup window to show the photo, but an overlay at the size of the user's current browser window.
Intense Images applies the image as the background of this overlay, along with a small caption title and description.
Whenever the user's mouse is hovered over a thumbnail, the mouse cursor is replaced with a "+" sign to signal the fact the image can be clicked and enhanced.
When in fullscreen mode, the cursor is replaced with a "x" sign to tell the user he can close the overlay whenever he wants by clicking on the image.
The image will always cover the user's screen, and if wider or taller than the user's screen, the user can navigate it using his mouse by moving it towards the edge of the page.
A demo is included with the Intense Images download package.
