Intel Hex File Compare utility loads two separate files sector by sector into memory and then compares the two sectors. A sector being a 64k-byte block. The software is aimed at the embedded developer and as such supports Intel Hex File Types utilizing line types: 0 - data, 2 - 20-bit addressing and 4 - Full 32-bit addressing.
If a difference is found it will then find the line in the source file containing the data and list both lines side by side highlighting the different data. Version 0.3.0.247 adds left click in file view synchronizes the windows properly.
