GHASEDAK OS

GHASEDAK OS is an open source and totally free operating system based on the Linux kernel and created to be used on public or private organizations, networks, engineering and construction, schools and educational institutions, as well as for personal and household usage.

This Linux kernel-based operating system is derived from the official KDE flavor of the world’s most popular distribution of Linux, Ubuntu. Being based on Kubuntu, means that it is built around the KDE Plasma desktop environment.

Distributed as a dual-arch Live DVD

The distribution is available for download as a single, dual-arch Live DVD ISO image that has 1 GB in size and supports both 64-bit and 32-bit instruction set architectures. It can be used directly from a bootable medium (DVD or USB thumb drive) or installed locally.

Minimalist boot options

The boot menu of the Live DVD is very minimalist, as it includes only two options, the ability to start the live system with normal configuration or to check the integrity of the bootable medium (only if you're booting from a DVD disc).

Uses the modern KDE Plasma desktop environment

As mentioned, the distribution is a Kubuntu derivative and uses the KDE Plasma project as its default and only graphical desktop environment. By default, the KDE desktop will present users with a mobile interface if a small screen is detected, otherwise you will have access to the full Plasma interface, which boasts a traditional and familiar design comprised of a single panel located on the bottom edge of the screen, from where users can interact with running apps or navigate the main menu and launch programs.

Default applications

This is a Linux-based operating system that features a complete set of office software, software engineering, multimedia, animation and programming tools, including Mozilla Thunderbird, GIMP and LibreOffice. Many Islamic applications are also pre-installed in GHASEDAK OS.
