Game Drift Linux

Game Drift Linux is an open source and completely free operating system derived from the world’s most popular distribution of Linux, Ubuntu, and designed for hardcore gamers.

It’s distributed as 32-bit and 64-bit Live CDs

Users can choose between downloading the Live CD that corresponds to their computer’s hardware architecture, 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) are supported. The Live CDs have approximately 700MB in size and fit perfectly on CD discs or USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity.

English and Dutch languages are supported

When booting either of the Live CDs described above, you will be prompted by the boot menu and asked to choose between the English and Dutch languages. Then, you will be able to try the operating system without installing anything, start the graphical installer directly, as well as to boot an existing OS from the first drive.

The graphical desktop environment is simple, fast and traditional

Being based on Ubuntu, the operating system features a slimmed down version of the GNOME Classic desktop environment, which comprises of a single taskbar located on the bottom edge of the screen, allowing users to quickly access the main menu and launch applications.

Allows you to run Windows games

When using Game Drift Linux, you should know that over 1,200 popular Windows games are one click away, thanks to the built-in CrossOver Games application. You can install both open source and commercial games, such as Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Hitman or Counter-Strike Source.

The Live CDs include Game Store

The in-house built Game Store application is included in both Live CDs and contains only high quality. Linux games, among which can mention the Stunt Rally racing game, AssaultCube FPS (First-Person Shooter), Frets on Fire Guitar Hero clone, and numerous other fun games.

The default password for the live system is gamedrift

When using the Live CD, please note that the default password is “gamedrift” (without quotes), which will be required to install additional software packages or to make system changes.
