AqBanking is an open source, multiplatform and free software project that comprises of a set of utilities designed to act as an interface to online banking operations, such as retrieving of transaction and account statements, money transfer, etc., bank information for USA, Switzerland, Germany and Austria, currency and country information (ISO codes, etc.), as well as support for financial file formats (import and export).

Integrates with popular finance managers

AqBanking integrates well with the QBankManager, GnuCash and KMyMoney applications, and provides GUI (Graphical User Interface) front-ends for Qt/KDE, GTK, and CLI (Command-line Interface). The application has been designed to use plugins for performing the online tasks. In addition, it supports the HBCI (2.01, 2.10, 2.20 and FinTS 3.00), EBICS version 2.3 and 2.4, and the OFX Direct Connect protocols, as well as a built-in editor for CSV file profiles.

AqBanking is not an actual application, as it has been designed as a library that needs to be added in your financial manager project(s), which means that it will be possible to support various banking protocols. It offers flexibility when developing applications for online banking and the newly added protocols will always be available in your app.

Under the hood

The software is written entirely in the C programming language, which means that it is small and fast. It is compatible with the Mono and Java runtime environments, as well as with the FOX 1.6, GTK2 and QT4 GUI toolkits. AqBanking has a background of 6 years of hard work and it’s constantly evolving.

Supported operating systems and architectures

AqBanking is a cross-platform software that It has been tested with all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as with the Microsoft Windows operating systems. It is fully compatible with both 64-bit and 32-bit instruction set architectures. It is the successor of the OpenHBCI2 project.
