aPhoto is a commercial, multiplatform, easy-to-use and full-featured graphical software project implemented in Java and created from the ground up to allow users to effortlessly apply both image and text watermarks on their photos.

The application is actually a watermark sign utility that has been designed to help you protect your photos, by adding a logo of copyright notice on them. It can also be used to add text comments to photos.

Features at a glance

Key features include batch processing support, allowing users to watermark multiple images at once; image resize support, allowing the user to quickly scale images; as well as image rotate support, allowing you to quickly rotate the image or text watermarks.

In addition, the application supports watermark transparency, allowing your to set the transparency level on image or text watermarks; and supports watermark position, so you can easily set the position of the image/text watermark guided by a 3x3 grid or offset.

Among other interesting features, we can mention command-line support, so you can use the app from a console environment or integrated it with other apps; watermark style support, allowing you to choose between image or text watermarks easily; and taken date support, allowing you to insert the taken date of your images.

Requires no installation

Being implemented in the Java programming language, the aPhoto application requires no installation. To use it on any of the supported operating systems (see the next section for details), just download the latest release, save it on your Home directory, unpack it, and double click on the aphoto.jar file. Make sure that JRE (Java Runtime Environment) is installed prior to attempting running the app.

Runs on Linux, Windows and Mac

Also thanks to Java, aPhoto is a cross-platform application that will run successfully on any GNU/Linux distribution, as well as on the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. it currently supports 32 and 64-bit computer platforms.
