Ruby Mapnik

Mapnik is a C++ toolkit for developing map-centric applications, one of the tools used to create the famous OpenStreetMap (OSM) mapping project.

Ruby Mapnik is a Ruby client for the Mapnik toolkit, allowing developers to create mapping applications that inter-connect them with the Mapnik toolkit.

Once properly setup, just point the library towards some geographical data, add styling rules via plain old Ruby syntax and generate the custom map you want to make.

For rendering maps the Ruby client comes with support for the standard AGG library and rCairo.
