wysiwyg.js offers a simple rich text editor for your Web projects that doesn't need a bulky JavaScript framework to work.
It is easy to implement with almost any project, working via the HTML5 contenteditable feature that allows users to edit and save content on a Web page much easier than before.
The editor includes two working modes: one offering the classic controls toolbar at the top (or bottom) of a page, and another with the toolbar appearing in a tooltip only when a snippet of text is selected.
This last mode is also known as inline or in-place (on-page) editing and is currently used in lots of minimal blogging platforms like Medium and Svbtle.
Developers can decide what formatting options appear in the editor's toolbar at any point, depending on each project's requirements.
If the user's browser doesn't support HTML5 contenteditable, wysiwyg.js falls back to editing text inside a textarea element.
Examples are included with the download package, along with a jQuery version of the wysiwyg.js editor.
Requirements:
- JavaScript enabled on client side
