The admin can set roles or privileges for all the orphan users that have registered on a blog (or blog network) and have no role or access rights set.

It does it in two ways:
1. Users who try to login to a different blog in the network than the one they signed up on, will be promoted at the time of login. The user won't even know that it happened.
2. When the admin logs into the blog and views the users page, all orphan users – for that blog – are promoted automatically.

Installation:

Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.

What is new in this release:

  • Bug Fix: Used the wrong property from $wpdb to get the table prefix. This release fixes that bug and cleans up the code some. Thanks to Vince for helping track this down.

What is new in version 1.0:

  • Added an options page so that the admin can set the Role orphan users get when they are adopted. By default it will be the same as the default role for new registrations on that blog, but can be set to something different, if you choose.

Requirements:

  • WordPress 2.5 or higher
