This is done by adding a special checkbox in the backend user profile page.
If checked, the 'Extra Authors Redirect' plugin redirects all frontend user profile pages to the site's homepage.
Installation:
Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
