Along with the new 3.8 branch of WordPress, a complete facelift was also introduced for WordPress' backend section.
The new admin panel in WordPress has a much better contrast, relies on a flat style, is fully responsive and uses colors and CSS more than images.
This means the admin panel is much more easy to skin and customize than the bland, boring and extremely hard to modify admin panel, present in previous WP versions.
The Admin Color Schemes plugin, created and developed by WP's own team, is a plugin that adds eight new extra themes on top of the eight default ones.
Besides these eight new themes, the Admin Color Schemes plugin also wants to serve as a "wireframe" for other developers on how to skin the admin panel to their own liking, following the guidelines and methods presented in this plugin's source code.
Installation:
Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
