SallyCMS was forked from the older REDAXO CMS project and is currently running atop the Symfony 2.x PHP MVC framework.
It can work with both MySQL and its alternative MariaDB, and comes with an installation wizard to help developers set it up on their servers.
Once the CMS installed, admins can log into their accounts and start adding the website's structure and then its content.
Content can be organized in different categories, editors can upload and manage CMS files, and multiple user accounts can be added to help build the site much faster.
If the default functionality does not cover one or more features, developers can extend SallyCMS via add-ons.
Other useful tools worth mentioning are Sally's built-in support for multi-lingual content, block-based editing system, its own caching engine, and support for article revisions.
All these provide the basic tools for both building and then running a website with maximum performance, helping developers build anything from one-page portfolios to huge Intranet portals.
