Bitnami LimeSurvey Stack

Bitnami LimeSurvey Stack is a free and multi-platform software project that greatly simplifies the deployment of the LimeSurvey application and its runtime dependencies on personal computers powered by either a GNU/Linux distribution or by the Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems.. It can be deployed using native installers, cloud images, a virtual appliance, a LAMP/WAMP/MAMP module or a Docker container.

What is LimeSurvey?

LimeSurvey is an open-source web-based application that allows users to quickly create intuitive, powerful, online question-and-answer surveys that can work for tens to thousands of participants without much effort. Key features include survey branching, support for private or public surveys, support for multiple question types, basic analytics and reporting functionality, CSV, XLS and SPSS export, as well as support for multiple languages.

Installing Bitnami LimeSurvey Stack

Bitnami native installers automate the setup of a web-based applications on GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems, supporting 32-bit and 64-bit (recommended) capable computers. To install LimeSurvey on your desktop computer or laptop, simply download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

Run LimeSurvey in the cloud or virtualize it

Thanks to Bitnami, users can run LimeSurvey in the cloud with their hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image for the Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers. It also possible to virtualize LimeSurvey by using Bitnami’s virtual appliance for Oracle VirtualBox, as well as VMware ESX and ESXi, based on the latest LTS release of Ubuntu Linux.

The LimeSurvey Docker container and LAMP module

Bitnami also provides users with a Docker container for LimeSurvey, as well as a module that allows you to deploy LimeSurvey on top of an existing LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL or PHP) server.
