TocJS

TocJS works by reading and extracting the headers found on a page and printing them inside a special widget, transformed to link back to the original header when clicked.

Developers can customize the formatting of each heading level and even work together with Bootstrap layouts and Bootstrap's ScrollSpy plugin.

This means the ToC widget can easily be displayed in a fixed position and the currently viewed ToC item can be highlighted accordingly.

In case you want to use it in a custom theme, the table of content can also be modified via basic CSS code.

Various demos are included with the TocJS download package.
