mor.js can be used to convert simple text to Morse code and vice versa.

The library comes hard-coded with a simple Unicode characters map, along with their corresponding dot-line patterns. This map is used for every conversion between raw text and Morse code.

The library can be used for basic text encryption, and in case users might get suspicious when seeing an endless line of dots and lines, developers can also replace the long and short Morse characters with whatever they want.

Documentation is included with the download package.

mor.js works with client-side (browsers) and server-side (Node.js) environments.

What is new in this release:

  • Add unit tests
  • Add Bower support
  • Add Grunt build system
  • Change default mode to "compact"
  • Fix CommonJS support
  • Remove Ender support
  • Rewrite API

What is new in version 1.0.2:

  • Added support for single string or object argument to the encode and decode methods.
  • Exposed read-only versions of the internal chars and modes variables.

Requirements:

  • JavaScript enabled on client side
