TurnKey Clipbucket Live CD is an open source distribution of Linux that provides users with a free and easy-to-use solution for deploying dedicated Clipbucket servers with minimum effort and without paying for expensive products. It is based on the stable, reliable and widely used Debian GNU/Linux operating system.
Clipbucket is an open source PHP multimedia management application that provides everything you need to start your own YouTube-like video sharing website. The appliance comes with all of the upstream Clipbucket configurations, which are installed by default in /var/www/clipbucket.
Key features include support for secure connections using the latest SSL specifications, phpMyAdmin administration front-end for managing MySQL databases, as well as Webmin modules for configuring PHP, MySQL, Apache and Postfix.
It can be downloaded as Live CD ISO images, which have been designed for users who want to install the operating system on any 64-bit or 32-bit computer. In addition, virtual machine images can be download from the project's homepage, for the Xen, OpenStack, OpenNode, OpenVZ and OVF virtualization technologies.
While the default username for the MySQL, SSH, Webmin and phpMyAdmin components is root, the ClipBucket username is admin. New passwords for these accounts can be set up during the first boot configuration process, which kicks in right after the installation.
The entire installation and first boot initialization process is text-based and requires users to only partition the disk drive and choose where to install the boot loader. It is also a must to enter a valid email address for the Clipbucket 'admin' account and a domain to server Clipbucket.
It is possible to remotely manage the appliance using the SSH, Web Shell, SFTP or Webmin services whose IP addresses and ports are displayed on the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, from where users can set up network interfaces, as well as to reboot or shutdown the server.
