s6 is an open source suite for command-line utilities that can be used by system administrators to perform secure supervision tasks, specifically for runit and daemontools.
s6 includes command-line tools and a libraries that implement inter-process synchronization and notification, which can be included in any Linux distribution.
The following supervision system tools are included: s6-svscan, s6-svscanctl, s6-supervise, s6-svc, s6-svok, s6-svstat, and s6-svwait.
The following daemontools-like utilities are included: s6-envdir, s6-envuidgid, s6-fghack, s6-log, s6-setlock, s6-setsid, s6-setuidgid, s6-softlimit, s6-tai64n, s6-tai64nlocal, and ucspilogd.
Moreover, the s6-mkfifodir, s6-cleanfifodir, s6-ftrig-notify, s6-ftrig-wait, s6-ftrig-listen1, and s6-ftrig-listen programs are used for fifodir management, notification and subscription.
Also, the ftrigw, ftrigr, and s6lock libraries, and the s6-ftrigrd, s6lockd, s6lockd-helper internal programs are also included.
