Ramone Linux is a free and open source DIY (Do It Yourself) GNU/Linux operating system based on the LFS (Linux From Scratch) project and built around the KDE Plasma and GNOME desktop environments. The Ramone Linux KDE edition features the KDE Plasma graphical desktop.
Available for download as a 32-bit Live DVD
The KDE edition of Ramone Linux is available for download as a single, Live DVD ISO image of approximately 800MB in size, engineered to support only 32-bit applications, yet deployable on either 32-bit or 64-bit hardware platforms. The user must burn the ISO image onto a blank DVD disc using any CD/DVD burning application or write it on a USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity using UNetbootin or Disks apps in order to boot it from the BIOS of a computer.
Features no boot options
Unfortunately, the Live CD features no boot options and will immediately load the live environment from the moment the user boots the bootable medium from the BIOS of the PC.Pure KDE Plasma desktop environment with KDE-specific apps
As mentioned, the main emphasis of this Ramone Linux edition is on the KDE Plasma desktop environment, which provides users with a pure, familiar, modern and productive graphical session that uses a single-panel layout. It includes mostly KDE-specific applications, among which we can mention the Dolphin file manager, Konqueror web browser, KMail email client, Amarok audio player, Akregator news reader, as well as the K3b CD/DVD burning software.
