Pup2P

Pup2P is a special operating system based on the minimalistic Puppy Linux distribution with an emphasis on providing an anonymous Live CD built around the widely used I2P anonymous peer-to-peer distributed network.

Available for download as an ISO image or a SFS file

This custom Puppy Linux derivative is available for download as a Live CD ISO image that must be written to either a CD disc or a USB flash drive, as well as a SFS file that in order to use it, the user must boot up Precise Puppy, reboot, create a save file while leaving enough room for the Pup2P SFS file and JRE, which must be placed under /mnt/home.

Reboot Puppy again, start I2P by opening a Linux console and type the ‘cd /root/pup2p/i2p && ./starti2p” command. To start I2Pfox use the “cd /root/pup2p/i2pfox && ./i2pfox” command and to start iMule use the “cd /root/pup2p/imule && ./startimule” command.

Minimal boot prompt

Pup2P uses a minimal boot prompt on the ISO image. For a list of boot options, press the F2 key on your keyboard, otherwise it is instructed to start the live environment with default boot options and drivers in 8 seconds.

Legacy graphical desktop environment powered by IceWM

During the boot process, the user must choose a port for the mouse device, select a keyboard layout, as well as to choose a display server (X.Org and VESA are available). The default and only graphical desktop environment is powered by IceWM, which provides users with a traditional and fast desktop experience.

Default applications

Defualt applications include the InkLite vector graphics editor, AbiWord word processor, Geany IDE, mtPaint digital painting software, Leafpad text editor, GPicView image viewer, HomeBank finance management app, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, gFTP file transfer client, XChat IRC client, Transmission torrent downloader, as well as the SeaMonkey all-in-one Internet suite.
