PCLinuxOS Br Edition Fluxbox

PCLinuxOS Br Edition Fluxbox is an open-source distribution of Linux derived from the famous PCLinuxOS operating system, which in turn is based on the deprecated Mandriva distro, and built around the lightweight and minimal Fluxbox window manager.

Supports both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms

Despite the fact that is uses a low on resources desktop environment, the Fluxbox edition of PCLinuxOS Br has been engineered to support both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.

It’s available for download as a single, dual-arch Live DVD ISO image of approximately 1.2GB in size, which must be burned onto a blank DVD disc or written on a USB thumb drive of 2GB or higher capacity.

It features a comprehensive boot prompt with useful options

The boot loader of the Live DVD has been designed in such a way that is allows the user to start the live system with default drivers, without the boot splash, in safe graphics mode, in failsafe mode or by copying the contents of the ISO to RAM.

In additions, users will be able to directly start the installer to permanently install the operating system on their computers, drop to a shell prompt, change the language for the live environment, choose a different bootable source or select another video mode.

Fluxbox is extremely lightweight on PCLinuxOS Br Edition

Before you can access the graphical desktop environment, which is powered by the Fluxbox window manager, the user must choose a keyboard layout. Actually, you won’t believe that you’re using Fluxbox, as it has been highly modernized with a transparent panel located on the bottom edge of the screen, from where you can navigate the main menu and launch apps, as well as to interact with running programs.
