LliureX Pime

LliureX Pime is a freely distributed and open source operating system, a special edition of the LliureX distribution designed to be used on a self-contained office. It includs Java (JVM), ActiveDirectory (Windows integration) and digital certificates.

Distributed as 32-bit and 64-bit Live DVDs

This special edition of LliureX Linux can be downloaded from its official website or via Softoware (see download link above) as two Live DVD ISO images or approximately 2GB in size each, deployable on either 32-bit or 64-bit computers.

The user must burn these ISO image onto DVD discs using any CD/DVD burning software or write them on USB flash drives of 4GB or higher capacity in order to boot them from the BIOS of a PC.

Boot options

It uses the same boot menu that powers all of the other LliureX editions, allowing the user try the distribution without installing anything, boot an existing operating system from the first disk drive, run a memory test, check the integrity of the bootable medium (only if using a DVD media), perform automated test or start the graphical installer.

Office oriented desktop environment powered by GNOME

It appears that GNOME is the preferred desktop environment for almost all LliureX editions. In this flavor it uses a single taskbar located on the bottom edge of the screen from where the user can launch applications and interacti with running programs.

Includes office-oriented open source applications

Among the preinstalled office-oriented open source applications, we can mention the entire LibreOffice office suite, SciTE text editor, Blender 3D modeller, Gobby collaboration software, Vinagre remote desktop client, Sinadura digital signature manager, Planner project manager and Evolution email and calendar client.
