EdgeBSD is an open source BSD-based operating systems based on the NetBSD codebase, using Git for source code management and pkgsrc for package management.
This BSD distro will offer advanced facilities for developers, such as build environments and patch management, re-organization of the base system, a graphical installer, and modern package management with signed packages.
EdgeBSD will also provide alternatives to the X.Org display server, ready-to-flash images for embedded devices, as well as virtualization of most components, using the RUMP anykernel.
At the moment, EdgeBSD is distributed as sources on the GitHub website.
