DaVinci OS is an open source and totally free GNU/Linux operating system that has been designed from the ground up as an openSUSE-based distribution that uses the devices Linux kernel and the productive GNOME desktop environment.

Supports 64-bit and UEFI systems

DaVinci OS features support for SQL databases, it is compatible with Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X applications, and it provides support only for UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) devices, which means that it will not work on computers with legacy BIOS.

It is available for download as an archived OEM file, providing support only for computers supporting the 64-bit (x86_64) CPU architectures. It was created by Tóca CompuGlobal Corporation, Inc.

Built around the GNOME desktop environment

As mentioned, the operating system is built around the GNOME desktop environment, which offers a modern and attractive experience where everything is totally different from the desktop sessions offered by the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.

The GNOME installation also comes with all of its default applications, such as Evince for viewing all sorts of documents, Epiphany for surfing the Web, Empathy for chatting with friends and family, Gedit for writing code and editing text files, Evolution for sending and receiving emails or managing calendars, and Eye of GNOME for viewing photos.

Additionally, the distributions comes with many other open source applications, such as the powerful Mozilla Firefox web browser, GNOME Maps, GNOME Software, GNOME Logs, Rhythmbox, and Totem.
