With the CIITIX-WiFi Live Linux operating system anyone will be able to set up a secure Wi-Fi hotspot in just a few minutes. It is based off of Debian GNU/Linux and uses the TTLS (Tunneled Transport Layer Security) authentication protocol.
It is available for download as a dual-arch Live CD
The CIITIX-WiFi distribution is available for download as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image that has only 350MB in size and works well with computers that support both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures.
The ISO image is hybrid, deployable on CDs or USB sticks
It’s a hybrid ISO image that can be burned onto a CD disc using any CD/DVD burning software or written on a USB flash drive of 512MB or higher capacity. These bootable mediums can be used to boot the OS from the BIOS of a computer.
The Live CD boot menu includes many useful options
There are numerous useful options on the Live CD boot menu, such as the ability to start the system with support for 32-bit or 64-bit hardware platforms, start the live system in failsafe mode, start the normal, expert or automatic installation script in graphical or text, as well as to enter the rescue mode.
The graphical desktop environment is extremely basic
Use the user “ciitix” and the password “live” (without quotes) to login. The graphical desktop environment is extremely basic, based on JWM (Joe's Window Manager). It features a taskbar that allows the user to navigate the main menu, launch applications, cycle between virtual workspaces and interact with running programs.
Contains a handful of open-source applications
A handful of lightweight open-source applications have been included in the CIITIX-WiFi operating system, such as the Iceweasel web browser, Leafpad text editor, XTerm terminal emulator and Synaptic Package Manager for installing additional packages.
