When you "empty" the Recycle Bin, Windows simply marks its file directory to indicate that the files or folders are no longer in use. But the actual data still remains on the drive, and others might be able to view it using data recovery tools.

Passwords, financial documents, photographs, and personal files--it's all fair game to the IT professional, computer technician, or hacker. Fully configurable, you select what files are to be "sanitized". Data Sanitizer uses methods that comply with the U.S. Department of Defense standards for data security.
