RadSlice ImgServer is a free PACS to capture and store studies from DICOM equipment or from any other PACS software. It comes with an integrated Image Server to compress and transfer studies directly to your doctors' browsers after you assign those studies. Studies that you assign are automatically streamed to your doctor's browser when they login. It works efficiently for both in-hospital and teleradiology. In-hospital studies do not leave your hospital network at all. The reports submitted by doctors are stored and managed by the PACS software. There is no need to manually manage these reports in separate folders and clutter up your system. There is an option to manually upload a DICOM study or even loose images (such as non-digital X-ray images), if you need to. If you want to switch off your computer when there are pending studies left to be reported, you can click a shutdown button and those studies will be uploaded to DropBox.com and streamed to doctors from there. There is no Query / Retrieve functionality like in a regular PACS as this software is not designed primarily as a PACS. You need to register at RadSlice.com (for free) to begin using the software after you install it. The PACS features are free, but a minimal (commission) fee is charged if you assign studies to doctors. You don't need to pay anything upfront though. You can try the system and pay later if you choose to continue with RadSlice for assigning studies. You can continue to use the PACS features even otherwise.
