jStarbox

jStarbox is a jQuery version of Starbox, a star voting system built using Prototype.

The plugin works the same way but with fewer options.

Developers can play around with the number of stars available for voting, their colors and graphics, the incrementation step, ghosting properties, and the size of the stars.

The star rating system supports initial values, a place to display the rating, and CSS-based skinning.

The jStarbox plugin needs a backend component to work properly, a place to send all the user ratings and store them for further references and computations.

jStarbox comes with a few samples to show developers how it can be implemented.

• JavaScript enabled on client side
• jQuery

Limitations:

• Does not work well in IE6.
