filterunit is a unit test facility for command-line programs working as a filter. You can define input files and files with expected output. It runs the program under test with the input files and compares the actual results with the expected results.

What is new in this release:

  • If 'inputCount' is zero, input files are no longer necessary and other input files may determine test names.

What is new in version 1.3.0:

  • The configuration attributes "expectedFilter" and "errorFilter" allow post-processing of expected and error output.

What is new in version 1.2.1:

  • The -D/--define option allows you to define configuration attributes on the command line.

What is new in version 1.2.0:

  • An interpolation syntax allows for configuration attributes to interpolate into each other.
  • Some automatic attributes supply information about the current execution.

What is new in version 1.1.0:

  • The configuration option "metaExtension" allows you to use meta configuration files in expected trees.
  • A meta configuration file describes meta features of an expected file beyond its content.
  • Examples for meta features are the type of the file system object or its timestamp.

What is new in version 1.0.1:

  • This version removes support for the deprecated syntax of configuration attributes.

What is new in version 1.0.0:

  • A new configuration option `expectedTreeExtension` allows comparison of a tree created by the command under test.
  • Higher portability in filesystem access.
  • Every OS supported by `File::Spec` should work.

What is new in version 0.8.1:

  • Test and attached tags are listed in verbose output.

What is new in version 0.8.0:

  • The command line option "-p"/"--parallel" and configuration option "parallel" were added to allow for running tests concurrently.
  • The number of maximum parallel unit tests is computed based on load and number of CPUs.

Requirements:

  • Perl
