VueMinder Ultimate

VueMinder Ultimate is a full-featured calendar and reminder program. It combines all your event, tasks, note, and contact data into one convenient place, with the ability to extend that data with custom fields or link data items to each other. Data can also be shared over your local network - perfect for offices looking for an inexpensive and secure way to keep staff in sync. VueMinder supports automatic 2-way event and task synchronization with Google Calendar and can show your schedule regardless of whether you happen to be online or offline. Data can also sync with Outlook. A calendar browser allows addition of many calendars, such as holidays, local weather, and more.

You can also create your own calendars, which overlay in day, week, month, timeline, year, and list views. Items can be filtered or colored based on associated calendar, category, priority, or location. A transparent desktop calendar turns your old Windows desktop into something new and useful. Data can be imported from a variety of sources, including ICS, CSV, and Excel. Data export and ICS publishing capabilities are also provided. Calendars can be saved as web pages for viewing on your website.

Print features are also provided, with a large range of layout styles and a preview window that dynamically refreshes to show exactly what will be printed. VueMinder truly shines in the way it handles the display of reminders, which can be popup windows and unobtrusive desktop alerts. Reminders can be configured to play media files or even recite text-to-speech descriptions. Reminders can be scheduled based on both the start and end of an event or task. Reminders can also be scheduled for transmission to yourself or others via email, SMS, or voice phone. Despite its many powerful features, VueMinder Ultimate is incredibly easy to learn and was developed with great attention to detail. You'll find many subtle nuances in the software that come together into something that is a delight to use.

What is new in this release:

Version 2016.03:

• Added an option to change how completed events are displayed - faded, strikethrough, or normal. This setting can be found in the Appearance Options.
• Added an option to shade dates that are outside the printed month when using the Monthly layout style.
• Added the ability to specify an image URL for day backgrounds.
• Improved the performance of syncing with Exchange Server, especially when a calendar is first added. The user interface will continue to be responsive while the initial sync is in progress.

• Corrected syncing with Google Contacts to authenticate using OAuth2.0 instead of a username and password. The username and password technique is no longer supported by Google. Syncing with Google Contacts will not work when using version 11.2.8 or earlier.
• Corrected syncing with Google Calendar when multiple events are intentionally defined on Google Calendar with the same title, date, and time. VueMinder would only show one of the events.
• Corrected syncing all-day recurring events with Google Calendar. In some cases, such as when all-day events are imported from Excel or CSV files, the events would appear to span 2 days when viewed on the Google Calendar webpage.
• Corrected to not crash when the Windows On-Screen Keyboard is displayed.
• Corrected custom field ordering to be saved. Previously, custom fields could be moved up or down, but the order was lost after closing the editor.
• Corrected the Timeline View to not shift the left-most column when a different event is selected, if the selected event is already visible within the date range of the Timeline View.
• Corrected occurrence numbering when the first instance of a recurring series is moved before the original series start date. In that case, the displayed occurrence number for the second occurrence would be #1 instead of #2.
• Corrected importing recurring events from Excel and CSV files when the events have future occurrences, but originally started prior to the specified cutoff for older events. The recurring events would be excluded from the import.
• Corrected sending SMS reminders to other recipients to use the maximum number of characters specified in the SMS Settings. In some cases, depending on the mobile carrier of other recipients, truncated reminders would be sent containing fewer characters than specified in the SMS Settings.
• Corrected the Translation Editor to allow editing the translated language name. This name appears in the Language menu.

• Added an option when syncing calendars with Exchange Server to not process contact data in meeting notices, for improved syncing performance.
• Improved the Print window to recall previously specified date range settings (such as "This Week" or "Next Month") for each print style.
• Corrected syncing with Google Calendar. In some cases, events defined on Google Calendar were not appearing in VueMinder. If this problem affects you, it can be solved by removing and re-adding your Google Calendar to VueMinder.

What is new in version 11.2.7:

• Added a "Huge" option for event/task/note tooltips. Selecting that option (in the Calendar Options) will increase text scaling in the tooltips by 160%, for easier viewing. Also improved readability of tooltip text when using the other size options.
• Improved performance when a large number of categories or locations have been defined. The main window and editor windows will open more quickly now.
• Improved performance when a large number of tasks have been defined. The main window will load more quickly now.
• Corrected syncing with Exchange Server when events are copied and pasted. The original copied event would sometimes be moved to the date or the pasted event or deleted.
• Corrected syncing with Exchange Server when a new event is created and immediately re-opened in the Event Editor. After saving the updates, a duplicate event would sometimes appear on Exchange Server.
• Corrected the Meeting Response window. In some cases the names and email addresses of the meeting organizer and attendees wouldn't appear on the Meeting Response window. Also, the meeting response wouldn't be sent to the organizer.
• Corrected updating existing meeting requests. In some cases, the meeting organizer or attendee list would not be properly saved.
• Corrected the "Due In" value shown on the Popup Reminder window. If the reminder window was left open for a long time, the "Due In" value would sometimes stop refreshing and become incorrect.
• Corrected syncing or importing multi-line contact notes from Google Contacts to have the same line feeds in VueMinder, rather than a continuous line of text.
• Corrected a problem with new events sometimes not appearing in the calendar if the calendar's default event settings are configured to have a recurrence pattern.

What is new in version 11.2.4:

• Added a Catalan translation.
• Improved exporting contacts to allow selection of either Google Contacts CSV or Outlook CSV formats. When importing a Google Contacts CSV formatted file into Google Contacts, all fields will properly map to Google Contact fields, rather than some values importing into the contact notes.
• Improved the drop-down time picker to reduce the amount of scrolling. For example, when creating an event in the morning, 8:00 AM will be near the top of the drop-down list, rather than 3:00 AM.
• Improved the drop-down event duration list to eliminate the need to scroll.
• Improved the default event title when creating an event for a contact to use the default title specified in the Calendar Properties followed by the contact's name.
• Improved the performance of the Contact List when selecting or deleting multiple contacts, especially if there are several thousand contacts in the list.

• Corrected copying and pasting of events or tasks in a shared calendar. In some cases, reminder settings were not included in the pasted event or task if the person doing the pasting did not originally create the event or task that was copied.
• Corrected scheduling multiple voice phone reminders for the same event or task.
• Corrected the right-click commands on the Task List when the selected task doesn't have a due date, and the previously selected task did. The right-click commands would act on the previously selected task rather than the currently selected one.
• Corrected creating a new subtask for a task that doesn't have a due date when using the right-click menu in the Task List. In some cases, the default parent task of the new subtask would initialize to a different task, not the one selected in the Task List.
• Corrected the display of multi-week events on the Month view to not show the event starting time on subsequent week rows. The start time will only appear for the first week.
• Corrected the whole Month print layout when the option to show overflow into other months is disabled and some of the dates that are in different months have background images. The background images of dates in other months will be excluded when printing without overflow.
• Corrected entering web-based email settings if the web-based SMS settings (which use the same account) aren't also specified. Sending a test email wouldn't work until the SMS settings are entered and the Options window is closed and re-opened.
• Corrected editing recurrence events when the "This occurrence and all that follow" option is used. The new series will re-use any custom appearance that was specified for the previous series.
• Corrected the Links tab label to indicate the current number of links after previously linked items are deleted.
• Corrected several text labels that were unavailable to be translated to other languages.
• Other minor corrections and improvements.
