Apache SSHD spun out of the Apache MINA development process and was created as a Java standalone solution for supporting SSH-like communications between Java applications and services.
The library was not created as a replacement for the protocol itself and is recommended for usage as a way to support SSH in an application that needs to run on a broad spectrum of platforms and operating systems.
SSHD allows developers to create self-contained authentication and communication routines, regardless of the system's native SSH support.
Usage instructions, tutorials and documentation are included with the download package.
