Responsible.js works by adding a small toggle to the bottom right corner of the page, which can switch the user's view back to the desktop version if he doesn't like the mobile variant.
If switched to the desktop version of a mobile device, the user also has the option to revert back to the mobile variant by pressing the same toggle, this time shown as a notification bar at the top of his page.
The position, size, and colors of these two buttons can be changed if the developer doesn't like their default look, and they can also build them right into their sites without having to appear as overlays.
Responsible.js switches between the mobile and desktop versions without reloading the page in any way, and can be a good tool to ponder if you're trying to improve an application's UX.
