Just like Ratchet was at first a frontend UI framework for developing mobile apps in HTML, CSS, and JS that utilized an iOS-like graphic package, so is Fries, but using Android-like widgets.
In the meantime Ratchet development has been taken over by the Bootstrap team and expanded to support Android as well, but if you'd like an alternative to Ratchet's Android UI, you can take a look at Fries in the meantime.
Getting started with Fries should be pretty easy, especially since it's classic HTML deployment, so no rocket science is needed to put a few pages together.
Supported UI Components:
Action Bars
Tabs
Buttons
Spinners
Lists
Forms
Dialogs
Toast Notifications
