Zamunda.SE OS

Zamunda.SE OS is an open source distribution of Linux based on the latest upstream Debian GNU/Linux operting system and built around the lightweight Xfce desktop environment. It supports both English and Bulgarian languages and has been designed for the zamunda.se torrent tracker.

Distributed as a single, dual-arch Live DVD

You can download Zamunda.SE OS via Softoware or from its official website (see link above) as a single, dual-arch Live DVD ISO image, archived as a splitted 7z archive, which means that the user must download both files and extract only the first archive. Then, you must write the ISO image to either a DVD disc or USB flash drive in order to boot it from the BIOS of a PC.

Boot options

Default boot options include the ability to start the live environment with standard settings or in failsafe mode (in case the first boot entry won’t recognize some hardware components, such as the graphics card), run a memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot an existing operating system that is installed on the first disk drive.

Traditional desktop environment powered by Xfce

The default and only desktop environment of Zamunda.SE OS is Xfce, which uses the standard panel/dock layout. While the user can launch applications and interact with running program or system tray functions from the top panel, they can quickly launch their favorite apps from the bottom dock.

Includes a great collection of open source applications

Default applications include the Icedove email and news client, Iceweasel web browser, Transmission torrent downloader, Empathy multi-protocol instant messenger, Audacity audio editor, Rhythmbox music player, VLC Media Player, GIMP image editor, Inkscape vector graphics editor, Cheese webcam viewer, Totem movie player, LibreOffice office suite, Evolution email and calendar client, and Synaptic Package Manager.
