TurnKey WordPress Live CD is an open source distribution of Linux that provides users with an easy-to-use and handy method for effortlessly deploy the award winning Wordpress blogging platform on server machines.

It is based on the highly acclaimed, stable and reliable Debian GNU/Linux operating system. WordPress is an open source and state-of-the-art web publishing platform that focuses on web standards, usability, and aesthetics.

Available for download as 64 and 32-bit Live CDs

The Wordpress edition of TurnKey Linux is available for download as two Live CD ISO images that can be burned onto CD discs or written to USB flash drives, as well as virtual machines in the OVF, OpenStack, Xen, OpenVZ and OpenNode formats. Both 64-bit and 32-bit architectures are supported by the Live CDs.

Includes all upstream WordPress configurations

The project features all the upstream WordPress configurations, which are installed by default to /var/www/wordpress, integrated upgrade mechanism, support for uploading various media files, support for automatic upgrade of plugins, and support for permalinks configuration via the admin console.

In addition, it supports secure connections via SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), allows users to administer the MySQL databases with phpMyAdmin, send email messages with the Postfix email server, and configure PHP, Apache, Postfix and MySQL with Webmin.

Several popular and useful Wordpress plugins are included in this Live CD, such as Wordpress-SEO, NextGEN Gallery, Contact From 7, Viper's Video Quicktags, Ozh admin dropdown menu, WordPress.com Stats, WP-PageNavi, WP Super Cache, podPress, Simple Tags, Sociable, WP-DB-Backup, WP-Polls, and Google Analytics for WordPress.

Getting started with TurnKey WordPress Live CD

While the default username for the SSH, Webmin, MySQL and phpMyAdmin components is root, the default Wordpress username is admin. Users will be able to change the passwords for these accounts during the first boot configuration process, where they can add an email address for the Wordpress 'admin' account and initialize the default TurnKey hub services.

At the end of the first boot setup process, you will see the default IP addresses and ports for accessing the Wordpress installation, as well as the web shell, SSH, SFTP, phpMyAdmin and Webmin components.
