TurnKey Redmine Live CD is an open source appliance based on the award winning, stable and reliable Debian GNU/Linux operating system and designed from the ground up to be used by users who want an easy and painful method for deploying dedicated Redmine servers with minimum effort.

Redmine is an open source web-based application powered by Rails and engineered to provide integrated SCM (Software Configuration Management) , project management, and issue tracking. The appliance comes with the upstream Redmine configurations installed by default in /var/www/redmine.

Key features include support for the Git, Subversion, Mercurial and Bazaar version control systems, exemple "Hello World" repositories, ability to use all available trackers for your projects, as well as loaded default trackers, roles, enumerations, statuses and workflows.

In addition, it includes the mod_rails module for Apache, Ruby Enterprise, out-of-the-box support for secure connections via SSL, a Postfix mail server for sending emails to users, and various Webmin modules for configuring Apache, MySQL and Postfix.

While the default username for the MySQL, Webmin, Webshell and SSH components is root, the default username for Redmine is admin. During the first boot configuration process, users will be able to enter a password for the root (system administrator) account, a new password for the MySQL 'root' account, and a password for the Redmine 'admin' account.

The project is available for download as Live CD ISO images, which can be deployed to either CD discs or USB flash drives, as well as virtual machines in the OVF, OpenStack, OpenNode, OVF and OpenNode formats.

The installation process takes only a few minutes and requires users to partition the disk drive and install the bootloader, with just a few mouse clicks. Also, from the boot prompt of the Live CDs you can just try the appliance, without installing anything on your computer.

Don't forget to write down the IP addresses and ports of the active services, which are displayed on the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, at the end of the installation process, from where you will also be able to reboot or shutdown the server.
