Rebellin Linux is one of the few commercial Linux distributions, designed from the ground up to be powerful and fast, combining the power of PAE kernels and a rock-solid Debian GNU/Linux base with the productivity of the GNOME desktop environment.

Available for download as 32-bit and 64-bit Live DVDs

The distribution is available for download as 32-bit and 64-bit Live DVDs, but you must first pay the sum of 9.95 Euro (13.55 USD) on either the PayPal or Payza account of the developers. The payment transaction is very secure and you’ll receive a download link in your email address that was used for the payment.

Distributed in two separate editions

The operating system is divided into two separate editions, one named "Synergy" and based on Debian's latest stable branch, and another one called "Adrenalin," based on Debian's unstable branch.

Uses a highly customized GNOME desktop environment

GNOME is the default and only desktop environment of this Debian-based distribution. It has been highly customized with beautiful and attractive desktop and icon themes, and comprises of a top panel and a bottom dock (application launcher).

Includes top-notch open source applications

For a commercial distribution, it includes only top-notch open source applications, which is not quite fair for the developers who created them. Among some of them, we can mention the Deluge torrent downloader, Ekiga softphone, Empathy multi-protocol instant messenger, Epiphany and Mozilla Firefox web browsers, Evolution email and calendar client, Skype VoIP and Liferea feed reader.

Bottom line

In conclusion, Rebellin Linux is a very modern, powerful and well made distribution of Linux, based on the rock-solid Debian GNU/Linux and the productive GNOME desktop environment. Unfortunately, it costs a lot and many users might end up searching for a similar OS, such as ElementaryOS.
