OZ Unity (formerly BlackOpal64) is an open-source and free distribution of Linux derived from the Ubuntu operating system. It is clean, slim and ultra fast, providing users with a full featured and modern graphical desktop environment.
The OS is distributed as a hybrid, 64-bit Live DVD ISO image
In order to use this operating system you must download it from Softoware as a Live DVD ISO image of approximately 2.8 GB in size. It supports only 64-bit hardware platforms and can be easily deployed on DVD discs or USB thumb drives of 4GB or higher capacity.The boot menu includes the ability to start the live system without installing it
Being based on Ubuntu Linux, OZ Unity’s Live DVD ISO image features a boot menu that includes the ability to start the live system without installing it, with normal boot options or in safe graphics mode.Additionally, from the boot menu you can start the graphical installer, perform a system memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot an existing operating system that is installed on the first disk drive.
The default desktop environment is Unity
As its name suggests, OZ Unity uses the Unity interface of Ubuntu as the default graphical desktop environment. It comprises of a panel located on the upper side of the screen, as well as a dock (application launcher) on the left side of the screen.It contains a plethora of open-source applications and utilities
