Fedora SoaS Live CD is an open source and freely distributed GNU/Linux operating system based on the highly acclaimed Fedora distribution and designed to be used by young children or pupils in schools and other educational institutions.
Backed by the acclaimed Sugar Learning Platform graphical interface, the Fedora SoaS Live CD spin (also known as Sugar on a Stick) is especially engineered to be used as an 1-to-1 computing environment for K-8 students.
Distributed as 64 and 32-bit Live DVDs
The operating system is distributed as Live CD/DVD ISO images that offer support for both 32 and 64-bit architectures. The system is designed to be installed on the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) computer through a USB flash drive of 1GB or higher capacity.
Boot options
The boot menu is identical with the one of other Fedora spins, allowing the user to start the live system with default options or to boot an existing operating system from the local drive, to run a memory diagnostic test, as well as to verify the integrity of the bootable medium (only if booting from a CD media) by accessing the troubleshooting section.
