Community Builder can be used in situations where Joomla needs to be used in managing medium to large user communities.
Some people have described BuddyPress as the Community Builder for WordPress, but in today's world where WordPress is so much more used than Joomla, we can now call it the BuddyPress of Joomla.
Just like with the aforementioned tool, Community Builder can be used to enhance Joomla user settings, create frontend profile pages, and allow users to interact with each other via their public profiles.
The user community can create and share content with each other, from regular articles on your site to small messages just like you see on Twitter or Facebook.
Community Builder comes with a special section in the Joomla backend where all these features and details can be customized, and it can also be extended via custom plugins as well.
Installation:
Go to the Joomla admin section.
Select "Extensions" -> "Install/Uninstall/Extensions Manager".
Upload the package's ZIP archive file and press "Upload & Install".
Activate the uploaded plugin.
