WebPJS

WebP is a new image format developed by Google, considerably smaller than any other formats out there.

The library can be used as a fallback, to render WebP images on browsers that natively cannot.

Alpha channel transparency is also supported.

Tested and working on Firefox 3.5+, Google Chrome, IE 6+, Opera and Safari 3+.

Also works with iPhone 4+, Android 2.2+ and the iPad.

What is new in this release:

• Android 2.2 & above, iOS 4 support.
• Removed unused code for better code compression.
• SWF flash-file: code is 4kbytes smaller.
• JS-file: minify code is 1,7kbytes smaller.
• Remove some bugs.
• Info: with active gzip compression on your server/webspace the JS file caused only ~26.5kbytes traffic.
